With the exception of the far north, most of Middle TN climbed
above freezing yesterday with bright sunny skies. Dry high
pressure was over the area early this morning with temps falling
back to the upper teens to lower 20s.

For the daytime, it will be several degrees warmer than yesterday,
but warming will be held back somewhat by a disturbance moving
across the area. The disturbance is expected to be dry, but it
will bring patches of clouds, especially around midday, so we
will not get full sunshine like we saw yesterday. With highs in
the 40s, most of whatever snow remains should melt away. Skies
will clear out again for tonight with light winds. This will allow
temps to drop off quickly. Lows will fall toward 20 degrees by
daybreak Sunday.

Daytime Sunday will be more sunny than today and temps will warm
up more as light southwest winds develop. Highs will reach near 50
which will feel nice after the bitter cold spell, but it will
still be around 5 degrees below normal.

Sunday night will be another chilly one, then the warming will
really kick in with dry wx and above normal temperatures Monday
through Wednesday. Highs will be mostly in the low to mid 60s with
some spots nearing 70 by Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the
mid 30s to lower 40s.

The next rain chance will come Wednesday night through Thursday
as a trough swings through the northern plains/Great Lakes
dragging a cold front through our area. This will end the warming
trend with cooler (slightly below normal) temperatures late week.
