.KEY MESSAGES...

- Snow Showers Will End By Early Evening

- Dry Saturday Before The Next Storm Arrives For Sunday

&&

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Issued at 220 PM MDT Fri Apr 18 2025

Today is serving as a transition day to a quieter day tomorrow
as the area of low pressure that brought colder temps,
widespread clouds and snow continues to move south towards the
Four Corners area this afternoon. Still seeing some wraparound
moisture and clouds, mainly across the southeast parts of the
region while the rest of the area is already seeing mostly clear
skies and no additional precip. Visible satellite imagery
continues to show clouds slowly thinning out across the
southeastern corner of the Gem State and this trend will
continue into the evening and overnight with clear skies
expected regionwide by daybreak tomorrow. After a chilly start
to the day with teens and 20s expected for overnight lows
tonight, we should warm up nicely into the upper 50s to lower
60s across many of the lower valleys with upper 40s to low 50s
expected across the high country which is a big improvement from
the past few days. Skies will begin to cloud up again once
again tomorrow however during the afternoon and evening hours as
a weak shortwave will move over the area. Not much moisture
associated with this feature but could see some orographically
enhanced showers across some of the higher terrain but QPF
amounts are very, very low. These clouds will keep temps warmer
Saturday night into Sunday morning with 30s and 40s commonplace
across lower elevations with 20s generally in the high country.

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 220 PM MDT Fri Apr 18 2025

Fairly active pattern in the long term. Generally will see
warmer temperatures with a chance for isolated to scattered
showers and at times thunderstorms both Sunday and Monday and
again Wednesday through Friday. Tuesday looks to be the main
chance of no precipitation anywhere. Most activity will occur in
the mountains and higher elevations but at least a slight
chance will be present everywhere Wednesday through Friday.
Highs Sunday in the 50s mountains and 60s valleys with Monday
the coolest day behind the first system with 40s to lower 50s
mountains and 50s valleys. Tuesday through Friday will be mainly
highs in the 50s mountains and 60s to near 70 valleys. Lows
mainly 20s mountains and 30s to lower 40s in valleys through the
entirety of the long term period. Will be breezy Sunday with
winds in the 10 to 20 mph range with windy conditions with
sustained winds in the 20 to 30 mph range in the Magic Valley
and Snake River Plain behind a weak cold front. Much lighter
winds will return Tuesday through Friday.

&&

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SUNDAY/...
Issued at 1058 PM MDT Fri Apr 18 2025

Skies will be mainly SKC until Sat evening when some mid and
high level CIGs re-develop ahead of an incoming low. Winds will
be light, although KSUN has had trouble shifting to downslope
this evening. Otherwise, wind staying below 10KT. No impact to
VSBY.
