Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
209 PM EDT Sat Jun 7 2025
.DISCUSSION...
Very dry SAL over the region is suppressing convection today as we
are in a SW flow seabreeze regime. The SAL will remain in place
through tomorrow and into early next week with warm and humid
conditions but limited rainfall and below normal PoPs to mainly
afternoon inland areas. The surface ridge axis to the south will
eventually move back Nward next week with a return to E-SE steering
flow mid week with increasing PoPs on seabreeze boundaries as the
SAL eventually wanes late week. Expect slightly above normal
temps with heat index values 100-105 daily.
&&
.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
VFR conditions to continue with SW flow and dry air aloft for mainly
SCT025-030k ft low level clouds off the E Gulf tonight into Sun
morning before lifting and moving inland with ISOLD SHRA/TSRA well
inland of terminals.
&&
.MARINE...
Weak high pressure over the waters will hold in place with generally
light winds and slight seas into next week with isolated overnight
into morning showers possible. Winds shift east/southeast middle
of next week with a return more typical late afternoon into evening
showers/storms moving offshore at night.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...
Weak high pressure will keep warm and humid conditions in place with
the afternoon seabreeze moving inland daily. Afternoon rain chances
increase by mid next week as well.
