...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Friday)
Issued at 1202 AM EST Thu Jan 30 2025

High pressure over South Florida will continue to move slowly east
into the Western Atlantic Waters, as a mid to upper level trough
moves from the Western United States into the Central United States.
This will allow for the dry air to remain in place over South
Florida with winds becoming more southeast around 10 mph.

There could also be some patchy fog over the interior and west coast
metro areas early this morning and again early Friday morning due to
the low level moisture in place. The far western east coast metro
areas could even see some patchy fog early this morning due to the
light wind flow early this morning.

Highs will be around 80 today before increasing to lower to mid 80s
on Friday. The only exception is for the east coast metro areas
where the highs will remain in the mid to upper 70s. Lows will be
around 60 over most areas, except lower to mid 60s east coast metro
areas.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Friday night through Wednesday)
Issued at 1202 AM EST Thu Jan 30 2025

The high will continue to move further east into the Atlantic waters
as the mid level through move east and weakens. At the same time, a
low pressure over the Central United States will move northeast into
the Great Lakes region allowing for a cold front to move southeast
and wash out around the Lake Okeechobee region this weekend. This
front will be a dry front with little to no precipitation.
Therefore, the weather will remain dry over South Florida this
weekend.

Winds over South Florida will be southerly early this weekend before
going back to a easterly direction late this weekend. This in turn
will allow for temperatures to warm up into the 80s over most areas
each day this weekend. Lows this weekend will also be a little bit
warmer in the 60s over most areas, except around 70 east coast metro
areas.

High pressure will then build back into the area from the Atlantic
waters early next week keeping the dry weather in place over South
Florida with easterly wind flow. Highs will be in the 80s over most
areas except around 80 east coast metro areas. The Heat index
readings early next week will be in the upper 80s to near 90 over
most areas, except the east coast metro areas due to the dew points
getting back up to around 70. Lows will be in the 60s over most
areas except around 70 east coast metro areas.

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 623 AM EST Thu Jan 30 2025

Patchy fog has developed across interior South Florida, and could
briefly result in MVFR conditions for some of the East Coast
terminals this morning, namely KPBI, KFXE and KFLL. Any fog that
does impact these sites should dissipate by 13Z. Winds will remain
light and variable through mid-morning, when a light SE breeze
will set up. Another chance for early fog tomorrow as winds become
light overnight once again, but still too early to determine
impacts to sites.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 1202 AM EST Thu Jan 30 2025

Winds will slowly swing from an easterly direction today to more of
a south/southeast direction on Friday with speeds increasing to 10
to 15 knots by Friday. Winds will then swing more southerly early
this weekend before going back to an easterly direction late this
weekend with speeds of 10 knots or less. Seas will be 2 feet or less
over most of South Florida waters through this weekend. The only
exception is over the Atlantic waters where they could build to 3
feet on Friday. Therefore, boating conditions looks good over South
Florida waters through this weekend.

&&

.BEACHES...
Issued at 1202 AM EST Thu Jan 30 2025

As the flow becomes early today, an elevated risk of rip currents
returns for the Atlantic beaches. The risk will increase Friday
as the easterly flow strengthens.
