Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
403 AM EST Sat Nov 23 2024
...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER...
.SHORT TERM (TDY-MON)...
Issued at 401 AM EST Sat Nov 23 2024
After the passage of a cold front through our area, generally weak
northerly flow is settling in due to high pressure, bringing quiet
weather and fairly clear skies. Temperatures tonight are set to be
the coldest so far this season, with lows in the upper 30s for our
northern counties, mid 40s for inland areas, and low 50s near the
coast. Patchy frost is expected this morning and potentially tonight
in Levy County.
Moving into Sunday and Monday, calm conditions should prevail. Winds
are expected to be light and variable during this time. Temperatures
will begin to increase, with highs rising back to the mid 70s after
the recent few days in the upper 60s.
&&
.LONG TERM (TUE-FRI)...
Issued at 401 AM EST Sat Nov 23 2024
Moving into next week, the area of high pressure sitting over the
Peninsula should remain through Thursday morning, allowing dry
conditions to continue. Highs through Thursday are expected to warm
up to around 80 degrees. On Friday, there exists a low chance (10%)
for precipitation in our northernmost counties as another frontal
boundary approaches Florida, which will see highs drop back into the
mid 70s.
&&
.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1234 AM EST Sat Nov 23 2024
Generally weak northerly flow will be in place over the forecast
period as gradient relaxes across our area, bringing about quiet
weather. VFR conditions should prevail for each TAF location.
&&
.MARINE...
Issued at 401 AM EST Sat Nov 23 2024
High pressure to keep building across the region keeping north to
northwesterly winds across the Gulf waters. Pressure gradient
continues to relax through today allowing winds to fall below
headline criteria, however, seas will remain elevated during this
time. Pleasant boating conditions return going into early next
week with light winds and clear skies prevailing.
&&
.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 401 AM EST Sat Nov 23 2024
Area of high pressure builds into early next week keeping dry
and cool conditions in place across fire districts. Minimum humidity
values will range between 35-55 percent with some areas potentially
dropping below 35 percent today and Sunday, but moisture is expected
to increase into the week. North to northwesterly winds prevail and
become light/variable through the period. Though humidity values
could reach critical levels in some locations, the lack of winds will
keep any fire danger out of the area at this time.
