.KEY MESSAGES...
1. Steady triple digit high temperatures are expected through at
least Thursday in the Valley and Desert. A possible cooling
trend is being model indicated by Friday and next weekend.
2. Dryness is expected to continue through the next week with
steady minimum RH`s in the 15 to 25 percent range in the Valley
and in the single digits for the Desert. Light winds will keep
fire risk low.
&&
.DISCUSSION...
As a weak upper level ridge over the southern CONUS is expected
to keep high temperatures a few degrees above triple digits
through at least Thursday of next week. Along with these
temperatures are minimum relative humidities in the Valley of 15
to 25 percent and single digits in the Desert through much of
the week. The ridge will also keep winds calm and therefore
reduce the risk for fires.
A cooling trend is possible late next week with a trough
appearing in the models by Thursday, causing temperatures to
lower slightly by then, and cooling further by Friday and next
weekend. This trough may lead to increased winds and a slight
increase to the minimum RH`s in the afternoon in some locations
in the Valley.
