.SYNOPSIS...Skies will continue to clear this evening. Cool and dry
weather will build in through the week.

.DISCUSSION...Showers have finally gradually dissipated through the
day today. Skies have quickly started to clear as a more stable
profile has built in. Flow turning northerly at the surface has
started to advect much cooler and drier air across the area. This
air, alongside clear skies and little marine influence, will promote
unusually cold conditions overnight tonight. Models suggest near
freezing conditions all the way out to the coast. NBM continues to
signal high chances (60 to 80% chance) of near freezing conditions
all the way to the coast.

That said, dewpoints remain stubbornly above 40 today along the
coast and in most valleys. Copious ponding water and wet soils remain
throughout the area to provide ample moisture near the surface. With
this in mind, fog formation in stable valleys will most likely fight
against widespread frost tonight, a process most models can not
resolve. With this in mind, a widespread frost advisory has been
issued for zones that have yet to experience a killing freeze.
Freezing conditions are possible (especially outside of sheltered
valleys) but dewpoints will need to be watched closely this evening
to determine the likelihood of freezing conditions. As water
continues to drain and the surface dries, more widespread freezing
temperatures are more likely early Thursday morning despite weaker
cold air advection.

Beyond cold weather conditions, generally calm and cool weather will
make for an uneventful Thanksgiving. There is high model agreement
that an unseasonably strong ridge will build in this weekend into
early next week. Such as pattern will keeps conditions unseasonably
dry. It may also allow for some warming during the day but generally
offshore flow and long winter nights will combine to make unusually
cold temperatures at night the most notable feature, especially for
the coast. Even during the day NBM has the warmest valleys remaining
below 70. /JHW

.AVIATION...VFR continues through the TAF period for the coastal
sites as offshore winds develop aloft. This pattern will likely
continue for the next few days, with good flying conditions at KACV
and KCEC through the rest of the work week. Interior valley fog is
likely tonight, and may impact KUKI late tonight and early Wednesday
morning. Any interior fog that forms will likely mix out Wednesday
morning. /TDJ

.MARINE...Relatively light northerlies have developed across the
waters early this afternoon, and these are forecast to strengthen in
the outer zones Wednesday as a rex blocking pattern develops
offshore...with the associated low centered to our south and
offshore of the Central CA Coast. This may bring a prolonged period
of relatively light offshore winds nearshore with northerlies around
10 to 20 kts in the outer zones, with low seas within 10 mi of the
coast through the rest of the week while short period northerly seas
build between 40 and 60 mi offshore. A long period westerly swell is
forecast to fill in this weekend, peaking around 8 ft at 16 seconds
Sunday. /TDJ
