.UPDATE...Updated 06Z Aviation.

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...

1. Temperatures are expected to warm up again today and will
rise back to above normal by this weekend.

2. There is a chance for showers across the Sierra Nevada
today.

3. Locally breezy conditions expected across the Mojave Desert
through this weekend.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures have been cooler the past few days due to a strong
trough in the Great Basin. However, we can expect temperatures
to warm up a tad today once the remaining stratus burns off.
There also is a 5 to 10 percent chance of afternoon showers and
thunderstorms in the Sierra Nevada in the higher elevations
today thanks to the trough.

However, the trough will slowly slide away and a ridge moves in
from the Pacific coast bringing temperatures back up. Saturday
has a 55 to 80 percent chance of high temperatures of at least
80 degrees in the Valley. Temperatures will increase on Sunday
which will be good for those doing outdoor activities to
celebrate Easter with a 30 to 75 percent chance of high
temperatures of at least 85 degrees. Monday and Tuesday
continues the warming trend, however, the ridge will be
weakening. Tuesday has a 10 to 55 percent chance of high
temperatures of at least 90 degrees.

However, a shortwave trough slides in on Wednesday bringing
temperatures back down. Another trough is expected to move in on
next Friday. This bigger trough currently has a 20 to 25 percent
chance of any rain accumulation for the San Joaquin Valley.
However, the ensembles show uncertainty as one cluster of
members has not picked up on the trough. The long term CPC
Outlooks have equal chances of above and below temperatures but
also a 33 to 40 percent chance of above average precipitation.
