.AVIATION...23/12Z TAFs...Areas of IFR/LIFR in fog will continue
this morning along the Coos and Douglas coast and into the Coquille
Valley, with conditions lifting to VFR late this morning. MVFR/IFR
will return to the coast this evening.  Inland expect VFR through
the period except for local IFR in fog for valleys in the northwest
Umpqua (northwest of Roseburg) and eastern Douglas County.

DISCUSSION...A lingering cool air mass will bring some cool
temperatures to inland area this morning. Then, a high pressure
ridge centered offshore will strengthen today into Tuesday. This
will result in much warmer temperatures and dry conditions across
inland areas. High temperatures are expected to be near or
slightly above normal today, then 5 to 10 degrees above normal on
Tuesday. This will result in temperatures on Tuesday rising into
the upper 80s and lower 90s across valleys west of the Cascades
and in lower to mid 80s for valleys east of the Cascades.

Along the coast, expect some overnight and morning low clouds,
mainly north of Cape Blanco. A surface thermal trough along the
coast will result in breezy to gusty north winds expected during
this afternoon and evening, with winds trending slightly lower
across coastal areas on Tuesday.

Heading into mid to late week, a weak trough arrives. This will
result in some increased afternoon/evening breezes across inland
areas. Temperatures may lower slightly, but expect continued warm
temperatures (near or slightly above normal) through Friday.  Any
light rain with this weak trough is expected to be limited to
coastal areas of Coos and Douglas counties, where there is a low
chance (5-15%) for light rain late Wednesday and Thursday. Then,
on the weekend, temperatures are forecast to trend hotter as high
pressure builds over the region.


MARINE...Updated 200 AM Monday, June 23, 2025...A thermal trough
is bringing gusty north winds, building steep seas south of Cape
Blanco through Tuesday morning. Winds and seas are expected to
improve Tuesday afternoon and remain below advisory through the
middle of the week. A thermal trough could develop near the end of
the week and persist into the weekend.

PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 424 PM PDT Sun Jun 22 2025/

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Weak upper troughing (on Wednesday) will
bring an increased onshore flow. This will result in slight
cooling for the interior with low to mid 80s expected for the
interior westside valleys and upper 70s to low 80s east of the
Cascades. Marine stratus will deepen some along the coast, north
of Cape Blanco and could be enough to squeeze out patchy drizzle
from about Bandon north early Wednesday morning.

Weak upper troughing will remain over the area Thursday and Friday
with conditions similar to Wednesday. Afternoon temperatures for the
interior will be near seasonal norms.

The clusters and ensemble means suggest upper ridging building into
the area towards the start of this weekend, with much warmer
temperatures, but this may turn out to be only a 2-3 day period
before weak troughing returns for the early part of next week.
