...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Saturday Night)
Issued at 257 AM CDT Fri Apr 11 2025

To begin the period, calm and dry conditions are expected through
the period as surface high pressure sets up over the state
controlling the weather pattern.

This pattern change will allow for continued drying out across the
state due to recent heavy rains late last week and weekend. Area
rivers, especially the White, Black, and Ouachita river basins,
will continue to remain elevated although dropping some over the
next several days due to drier conditions in the forecast.

Temperatures are expected to remain near average to slightly below
average for this time of year. High temperatures are expected to be
in the lower 60s to mid 70s with overnight lows dropping into the
upper 30s to lower 50s across the state.

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday through Thursday)
Issued at 257 AM CDT Fri Apr 11 2025

A relatively settled period is expected thru much of the long term
PD, w/ incrsg rain chances noted by mid to late next week.
Otherwise, persistent mean troughing over the Great Lakes and N/Ern
US wl keep upper level N/Wrly flow over the local FA. Warming
temperatures wl be noted early next week before a dry cdfrnt is
progged to move thru the state on Mon night/Tues mrng. Very minimal
rainfall is expected locally w/ this frnt as dry and cool air is
ushered into the state, though this wl be a short lived cooldown.
Intermittent sfc high pressure wl settle in over the FA w/ temps
quickly recovering to more seasonal values, before another cdfrnt
looks to move thru the Midwest, bringing a better local chance for
rainfall on Thurs.

&&

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 610 AM CDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Widespread VFR conditions are expected through the period. High
clouds will be possible as well although CIGs are not expected to
drop. Winds will be gusty out of the northwest by late Friday
morning becoming out of the northeast/east by the end of the day before
returning to light and variable overnight.
