Details:
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 3, 500 feet. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 2 feet. * WHERE...Northeastern Trinity. * WHEN...Until 10 PM PST this evening. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Tire chains may be necessary if travelling through mountain passes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This includes highway 3 at Scott Mountain Pass. Information: If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order. |

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of northwest California, including the following counties, southeastern Humboldt, northwestern Mendocino and southwestern Trinity. * WHEN...Until 415 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 123 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area through 5 AM this morning. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Laytonville, Alderpoint, Richardson Grove, Redway, Ruth, Leggett, Dinsmore, Bridgeville, Fort Seward, Zenia, Blocksburg, Benbow, Miranda and Piercy. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. |

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northwest California, including the following area, Southern Trinity. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An additional 5 to 10 inches of rain is expected to fall mainly tonight and Thursday with occasional light rain on Friday. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
