Coastal Flood Advisory COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY  
San Luis Obispo County

Alert Details:
* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 10 to
15 feet and dangerous rip currents. For the Coastal Flood
Advisory, moderate coastal flooding possible.

* WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara
County Central Coast Beaches.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 9 PM PST Saturday.
For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 2 PM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of sea water is likely, around the time of
high tide, over vulnerable low-lying coastal areas such as
parking lots, beaches, and walkways. Significant damage to
roads or structures is unlikely. There is an increased risk
for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers
out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people
off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide around 7 feet (MLLW) is
expected to occur between 7 AM and 11 AM. There is a high risk
for breaking waves at Morro Bay Harbor entrance and flooding
at Oceano Dunes State Park.

Information:
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Do
NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay
near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in
such conditions, stay off the rocks.

Areas Affected: Santa Lucia Mountains - San Luis Obispo County Mountains
 
Alert Details:
* WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
Isolated gusts up to 60 mph are possible in favored areas.

* WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Mountains and Santa Lucia Mountains.

* WHEN...Until 11 AM PST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is a chance that this advisory might
need to be expanded to the coastal portions of San Luis Obispo
County.

Information:
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
