* WHAT...West-northwest swell with a period of 14 to 15 seconds will generate surf of 4 to 6 feet, with sets to 8 feet. Highest surf will be south of Del Mar. Elevated surf combined with high tides could lead to minor tidal overflow. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Strong rip currents and hazardous swimming conditions for inexperienced swimmers. Minor tidal overflow during high tides. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide at La Jolla today will be 6.87 feet at 9:16 AM. Information: A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as rip currents and other hazards such as minor tidal overflow are likely. Caution should be used when in or near the water. |
