...HIGH IMPACT WINTER WEATHER FOR SISKIYOU COUNTY...

.A high impact winter storm will bring strong winds, and heavy
snowfall (mainly above 4500 feet), to Siskiyou County. The snow
level will begin near 5000 feet early Tuesday, but quickly rise to
7000 feet. Snow levels will fall to around 5000 feet Wednesday then
to around 4000 feet Thursday night into Friday. The most significant
impacts will be strong south winds both Tuesday afternoon into
Wednesday morning and early Thursday morning into Thursday evening,
snow over higher passes (including Snowmans Summit) Wednesday
evening into Friday, and the potential for lower snow levels to
allow snow to affect a larger portion of the Mount Shasta region
from Thursday afternoon into Friday.  Snow and strong winds will
also impact the Crater Lake region Tuesday into Wednesday.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 5500 ft in Modoc County. Total
snow accumulations between 7 and 15 inches. Southerly winds
gusting up to 70 mph over high and exposed terrain. The heaviest
snow is expected Thursday into Friday, and the strongest winds on
Wednesday morning and Thursday morning.

* WHERE...Elevations above 5500 feet in Modoc County.
This includes Cedar Pass on highway 299.

* WHEN...From 4 AM Wednesday to 10 AM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel may be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and
evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree
damage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Visit weather.gov/mfr/winter for snow
accumulation probabilities.

Snowmans Summit beginning Wednesday night or Thursday. South winds
will likely gust as high as 60 mph over high and exposed terrain.
Winds will be strongest Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning,
and on Thursday.

* WHERE...Elevations above 4500 feet in Siskiyou County. This
includes Snowmans Summit on state highway 89, Etna Summit on
Sawyers Bar Road and Shasta Ski Park.

* WHEN...From 4 AM Tuesday to 10 AM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel may be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening
commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property and
cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for
high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind hazards will likely occur again
Wednesday night into Christmas Day.

or damaged by the wind.

cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for
high profile vehicles. Large inflatable holiday decorations will
be blown about.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind hazards will likely occur again
Wednesday night into Christmas Day.
